Solid–on–solid Model for Adsorption on Self–Affine Substrate: a Transfer Matrix Approach

چکیده

We study a d = 2 discrete solid–on–solid model of complete wetting of a rough substrate with random self–affine boundary, having roughness exponent ζs. A suitable transfer matrix approach allows to discuss adsorption isotherms, as well as geometrical and thermal fluctuations of the interface. For ζs ≤ 1/2 the same wetting exponent ψ = 1/3 as for flat substrate is obtained for the dependence of the coverage, θ, on the chemical potential, h (θ ∼ h for h → 0). The expected existence of a zero temperature fixed point, leading to ψ = ζs/(2− ζs) for ζs > 1/2, is verified numerically in spite of an unexpected, very slow convergence to asymptotics. Modeling Of Heat Transfer And Solidification Of Droplet/Substrate In Microcasting SDM Process

Microcasting Shape-Deposition-Manufacturing is an approach to Solid-Freeform-Fabrication (SFF) process which is a novel method for rapid automated manufacturing of near-net-shape multi-material parts with complex geometries. By this method, objects are made by sequentially depositing molten metal droplets on a substrate and shaping by a CNC tool, layer by layer. Important issues are concerned w...

Application of rapid impact assessment matrix and sustainability model in environmental impact assessment and operational optimization of solid waste transfer stations in Tehran

Background and Objective: Municipal waste transfer stations (WTS), operate as middle elements in waste collection and transfer to the final disposal site. Besides their benefits in waste transportation cost reduction, WTS can cause negative environmental impacts such as noise, air, and water pollution. Environmental impact assessment is an effective solution to reduce the environmental impacts ...

Comparison of Thermal Dispersion Effects for Single and two Phase Analysis of Heat Transfer in Porous Media

The present work involves numerical simulation of a steady, incompressible forcedconvection fluid flow through a matrix of porous media between two parallel plates at constanttemperature. A Darcy model for the momentum equation was employed. The mathematical model forenergy transport was based on single phase equation model which assumes local thermal equilibriumbetween fluid and solid phases. ...
